Long before there were stainless steel trash chute doors and compactors, high-rise buildings found in metropolitan areas typically burned their trash using an incinerator. After the EPA found that burning trash was bad for the environment, many of those chute systems have since been converted to compactors but the hopper style doors are still found in the field and for good reason. These hopper doors are durable and can last a lifetime with minimal repairs and regular cleaning.
Oswald supplied the designs and patterns to many of these old cast iron and rough steel units. We continue to make most of the repair parts needed on popular models and completely assembled units for replacements. Doors closer, hopper door checks, handles, access plates, door plates, hopper pans and various wall bucks are all available.
Keep the integrity of your building and save yourself some money by keeping those historical and hopper units functioning with new parts.
